D1: Departure 2019-10-26

We left Cobbs Marina at 8:30 am.  Had we been focused on optimizing our speed, we would have left much earlier.  By leaving when we did, we faced a current against us the entire day, but the day was wonderful anyway.  We motor-sailed to Hospital Point and motored the rest of the way to Great Bridge.  The temperature was perfect.

We are already getting over the anxiety of preparing for the trip and fear of forgetting something.  So far, the only thing we (Cathy) forgot were her flip flops.  Her favorite flip flops.  Oh my.

Anyway, we had an uneventful trip up the Elizabeth River and stopped at Atlantic Yacht Basin after the Great Bridge Lock.  We thought that was enough for our first day.  Tomorrow it is on to Coinjock if they still have room for us tomorrow.  All depends on if they boot the people out from the prior night, which they don't do if there is a weather event.  I may have to do some creative anchoring.

Decked out for the trip
