On Wednesday and Thursday, we mostly hid on Flight Risk as Hurricane Nicole made landfall in Vero Beach, FL. Because the storm had merged with a noreaster, the windfield was very large. On Wednesday, we experienced winds in the 25-35 knot range, but early Thursday morning until about noon, we saw winds shifting to the East and blowing 35-45 knots. At 45 knots, I decided to bring in my Starlink dish. Wednesday night and Thursday morning gave us extensive rain. The water level at the marina came within 5 inches of the dockline hook on the piling. As of noon, everything has calmed down and the skies are starting to clear.

I was tied to this cleat from my port stern. which is to the right of this photo. As the wind shifted East, the boat was pulling the cleat and the board away from the dock. I moved my dockline across the dock to another cleat. The red line was added by staff to keep the clean attached to the dock. Hmmm.
