We left Calabash Bay about 0820 on 2/22 exiting through the northern passage with the main up and ready to sail. The wind was light and behind us, so we put up the cruising spinnaker. That only lasted a short time, because we were feeling too much roll in the light wind and it was hard to keep the spinnaker full. We started motoring but were going to get to Adderle Cut when the current was flowing out fast, so we started sailing again for about 2 hours. We were only making about 4-5 knots. When we entered Adderly Cut, the current was still raging out, so steering was a bit challenging but not unmanageable. We rounded the northern point of Lee Stocking and inched our way into the channel near the abandoned research center. The minimum depth I saw was 6 feet, but most of the channel read 7-8 at low tide. When we arrived, we were the only boat, while about 20 boats were anchored further south at Williams Bay. We were happy to have the anchorage to ourselves.
