FlightRisk20230311ChubCay
I have always avoided Chub Cay because of its reputation of being expensive and exclusive, but under the circumtances with NW winds coming, I thought we could give it a try. The reservation process was a bit strange and I could not seem to get in touch with anyone, but I did purchase a discounted pre-paid slip for the night at $100. Once we arrived, they pointed out that you could only get that rate if you were a member, but we could purchase a one-day membership for $19 per person. This gave us full access to the facilities, which were very nice. After taxes, etc., our total bill for the slip was $152.90, which is really not that bad. I am glad we went and I woudl go again. The entrance is a bit confusing at first. The two poles at the beginning of the channel do not have any color, so just go straight in. The harbor entrance is between to rock walls and is hard to see, but follow the charts. It is very shallow outside the channel.
