Log12 - Castine, Crow Cove and Storms
On this day, we sailed out from behind Holbrooke Island and headed over to the historic town of Castine, which is also home to the Maine Maritime Institute.
We tied up for 2 hours at the public docks and took a quick tour of the town, including a short visit to the historical society museum. Lafeyette is a big name around here.
After departing from Castine, we sailed back around the north side of Isleboro and headed south into the wind. After tacking a while, we decided to look for a place to anchor.
I found a nice spot in Crow Cove, which was protected from SW winds. At first we were the only boat, but one other joined us in the evening after a storm blew through.
The Penobscot is full of beautiful anchorages. You could spend months exploring here.
